From the start of the Autumn term 2025, we will be welcoming Aspens Services as our new catering provider. Aspens Services is a well-established company with a strong reputation for providing healthy, balanced meals to schools.

Aspens’ menu has been designed to provide a wide variety of nutritious and appetizing meals, with halal, non- halal and vegetarian options available daily.

All halal meat is HMC registered.

All our school meals comply with the government’s nutritional standards and are healthy and balanced. From time to time we will have special days and theme weeks.

School meals are £2.80 per day or £14 per week and should be paid for in advance, on the first day of the school week though ParentPay.

If your child is in Foundation 2, Year 1 or Year 2, they are entitled to universal free school meal. This means that all children in F2 Foxes, F2 Hedgehogs, Year 1 Penguins, Year 1 Polar Bears, Year 2 Sharks and Year 2 Starfish will be able to have a free hot meal at school each day.

Please see the Welcome booklet for your child's year group for more details.

We also provide free fruit for all children in Key Stage 1 and in Foundation Stage.

Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. It is currently paid to schools according to the number of pupils who have been:

  • registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years
  • been in care for 6 months or longer

We will therefore ask parents on a regular basis to let us know if they think that they are eligible for Free School Meals/ Pupil Premium funding.

If you are receiving any of the following benefits you may qualify for Free School Meals for older children:

  • Income support
  • Income-based jobseeker's allowance
  • Income-related employment and support allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Child tax credit (provided you’re not also entitled to working tax credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • The guarantee element of state pension credit
  • Working tax credit run-on - paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for working tax credit.
  • Universal credit with annual net earned income of less than £7,400

Please ask at the school office for a form if you think that you may qualify.
