    Sparkenhoe Community School

Sparkenhoe is a split site school with three buildings. We have a main building, an additional building for the older children and a purpose built theatre.

Saxby Building

The Saxby Building is the main school building. The school office is located here with the entrance on Saxby Street. Children from F1 (Nursery) to Year 4 are all taught in this part of the school.

Gopsall Building

Children in Years 5 and 6 are taught in the Gopsall Building which is located on Gopsall Street. The building is self-contained so children have their lunch and assemblies in the Gopsall hall and use their own playgrounds at break and lunch.

Children go to the main Saxby Building for PE and for special assemblies and activities.

Ark Theatre

We are very lucky to have our own theatre which is used by the children for music, drama, dance and curriculum workshops. The theatre is also used for assemblies and performances. Once a year, each year group performs a special assembly for parents linked to different curriculum areas. These involve a mixture of drama, dance and singing.

All the assemblies and performances are very special occasions and culminate in the Year 6 Shakespeare evening performances at the end of the school year. In 2022, the children put on Romeo and Juliet to packed audiences.
